KESSLER INTERNATIONAL
MOVES LONG ISLAND OFFICE
NEW YORK,
NY
January 3, 2002...
Kessler
International, the world's leading forensic accounting and investigative
consulting firm, announced today it moved its Long Island operation to 140 Fell
Court, Hauppauge, NY from the Courthouse Corporate Center, 320 Carleton Ave,
Central Islip, NY after just four months of occupancy. The move was necessitated to protect the
health and welfare of its staff.
Michael Kessler stated that his “staff experienced an environment that was not conducive to
business and experienced professional working standards far short from those
offered by a Class A building.” Additionally surveys commissioned by the firm documented “health, safety
and OSHA violations present at the location.”
Kessler further stated his disappointment in the Town of Islip for not enforcing the State Fire
and Building Codes especially after his office notified Peter McGowan, the
Islip Building Department of the problems and the
Islip Industrial Development Agency for not monitoring the development phases
of the project.
Kessler also stated that the Town has ignored his Freedom of Information requests to examine
various documents concerning the construction including building and fire
inspections allegedly conducted by the Town and other plans and documents prior
to issuing a Temporary Certificate of Occupancy to some of the tenants which
the developer let lapse.
320 Carleton Avenue a building formerly operated as
the Pilgrim State Hospital is owned by Courthouse Corporate
Center, LLC an affiliate of Garden City-based Benjamin Development. Ray Ruiz of C B Ellis is the rental agent handling the property.
Benjamin acquired the property through another affiliate, Arlen Contracting, in
February 2000. Arlen had the winning bid in a New York State auction conducted
through the Empire State Development Corp.
